Baking | Berry-Berry Healthy Corn flake Cookies – Cookie Is Where The Crunch Is

Try the dual flavor vanilla & chocolate cereal or this new variety of cereal in the shape of Planet & stars…and this one….” Phew..shopping for children’ food could be  so distracting than compelling due to endless choices in the same. These myriad choices do make life easy for busy moms with almost no cooking, quick & fuss free breakfast options in the market. But in the bargain I feel we loose on the natural and healthier foods and food products which were available a few years back.

Cereal was certainly not our bowl of breakfast in the growing years during late 60s and early 70’s. And then when plain cornflakes was first introduced in India it became a fashion statement and was welcomed with open hearts in many homes.

An Eggless Peach & Plum Crostata Recipe and AFBHLS Guest Post from Deeba

Find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.Julia Child. And this is what she has been doing for over 15 years at her home and on her blog since 2007…baking, baking and more baking! This baking deva is also obsessed with a clean kitchen and delicate melt-in-mouth Macarons. Baking, Macarons…oh yes I can hear you shout out ‘Deeba’. Lite Bite is honored & elated to bring in Deeba of PAB as the first Indian food blogger for the series AFBHLS. When I invited her for the series she took no time to decide and asked me when can she send me the post. I took more time to come out from the state of disbelief, re reading her confirmation mail again & again and to let the euphoria of featuring Deeba in AFBHLS sink in 🙂

No-Knead Oatmeal Bread with Fresh Tomato Soup – A Light and Refreshing Dinner

Nothing can beat a homemade wholegrain bread and a cup of hot veggie soup for a cozy weekend family dinner. Normally weekends are reserved for going out and dinning at places where we can do a little bit of window shopping and let the kids indulge in play areas. Incessant rain marred our Saturday plans and we decided to stay put. This is when the idea to bake a fresh wholegrain bread with fresh veggie soup came across.

Oatmeal and Banana Scones – Perfect Way to a Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast recipes cease to change in many households due to lack of time or inability to adapt to new tastes. If it is traditional Indian flat breads or Parathas all year long in my mom’s place, Idlies or steamed rice cakes adorns the breakfast table in my In-laws house. To break the monotony I started introducing various grains and fruits in baking along with various healthy breakfast recipes immediately after my marriage. Today we all enjoy to feast on our breakfast of Muesli crumble, Ragi pancakes, barley scones or granola bars with the same enthusiasm.

Oatmeal never tasted that great before!” is the comment from my son after having a bite of these Oatmeal and banana scones 🙂

Oats & Wholewheat Eggless Vegetable Quiche

Quiche is one of those exotic European dishes baked with cheese, eggs and milk mixture which can make a very filling and healthy meal in itself. And home baked Quiche has an advantage of adding extra veggies and also curbing those fats which makes it quite heavy. Simple & easy to make, a Quiche can adopt various forms with the savory to sweet fillings you add in the baked pastry. The eggs used in the filling gives Quiche a light and fluffy texture, but believe me this egg less version tastes as good as if not the exact version, of the French Quiche 🙂
