Yeasted Coffee Cake – Chocolate Cream and Black Current Delight

As soon as I saw the Daring Baker’ challenge I knew that I may not be able to take it this time, reason being the meringue which is the main ingredient for baking this lovely cake. Since I do not use eggs in my baking and meringue calls for the same I left the challenge feeling sad not being able to complete it. But after seeing the lovely posts on the DB with these baked goodies I could not resist myself and baked the same cake using chocolate and cream mix.

Party Menu- Recipe Planner for the Big Day

It is that time of the year again we anxiously look forward to each year. Yes, time when we celebrate the combined birthday dinner party for our kids, which has become a sort of ritual for the last 10 years. Though with age catching up fast, it is becoming a bit taxing to entertain a guest list of 80+ friends. The happiness written on the faces of our children fuel our energy and helps us do the same year after year 🙂 And for sure these are some of the most wonderful moments of our life!

Easy Eggless Wheat Germ Muffins

Wheat Germ is one among the precious food ingredients which often fight for a place in my refrigerator. Blueberries, black current, prunes are some of the few contenders. Since getting these exotic foods is difficult here, I normally buy them in large quantities whenever I get a chance to do so.

I dry roast these Wheat germs and store them in a zip lock inside the refrigerator. These then get into my baking, porridge, chapattis, chutneys and various other recipes. Wheat germ gives a beautiful nutty flavor to the dishes.

A Cake That Was Not…Eggless Ragi or Finger Millet Bake

The cake that was not…Yes, I didn’t get any appropriate title for this beautiful cake which happened accidentally! The Ragi Pancakes which I made this weekend and posted before this cake came into existence, left me with surplus batter sitting in my fridge. Not knowing what to do with the batter I just added a few spoons of chocolate syrup, a handful of nuts and baked it. Voila’ this pretty came into life!

Sometimes accidents do bring sweet results, and this Ragi Cake is one such 🙂
