A Cake That Was Not…Eggless Ragi or Finger Millet Bake

The cake that was not…Yes, I didn’t get any appropriate title for this beautiful cake which happened accidentally! The Ragi Pancakes which I made this weekend and posted before this cake came into existence, left me with surplus batter sitting in my fridge. Not knowing what to do with the batter I just added a few spoons of chocolate syrup, a handful of nuts and baked it. Voila’ this pretty came into life!

Sometimes accidents do bring sweet results, and this Ragi Cake is one such 🙂

Muesli Crumble – A Healthy Dessert

A dessert is what everyone eagerly waits for on a holiday in my house. And when the said delicacy is made with healthy ingredients and is nutritious, there are no rules to follow.

This Muesli Crumble falls in the same category, one for which I don’t have to keep a watch on the number of empty bowls 🙂 A great Breakfast and a delicious Dessert.

Steamed Ragi Cake – Puttu

Ragi or Finger millet was never there in my cooking dictionary till I got married and came to the Southern part of India. My mom is still unaware of these mighty grains!

Though a very popular and an integral part of food in South of India, Ragi remains a mystery to the rest of India and a good dry flower decoration in my vase 🙂

Easy Cinnamon Tea-Cake

A piece of cake and a cup of tea will give any evening a perfect start. This Easy Cinnamon Tea Cake is my all time favorite. I love the earthy aroma of cinnamon in my cake, and the coffee adds up the extra zing to the cake. My kids don’t enjoy this delicacy as most of kids do not like coffee and cinnamon flavors. All the more better, I get to indulge in it all by myself, with a few slices spared for my dear hubby 🙂
