Quick Cauliflower

Cauliflower makes a good accompaniment for all kinds of meal and takes very little time to cook. Stir fry the cauliflower flowerets with spices & chickpea flour and it adds up as a great snack too. This recipe is a real quickie with very few ingredients to assemble & add.

 

Ingredients:

  • 200 gms. cauliflower
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1 tsp. coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp. chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  • salt as desired
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp. oil

Method: Make cauliflower flowerets by cutting it into small pieces (which look like flowers). Wash it with water thoroughly. Take a kadai (wok) and heat oil in it, add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add the flowerets, all the dry spices and salt to it. Cook for 5 minutes on medium heat. Take off the flames if you like the crunchy taste, or else cook for another 5 minutes.

Srinkle freshly cut coriander leaves and serve with chapatti or plain rice.

Quick to cook cauliflower can be rolled in chapattis to make a great cauliflower rolls for lunch box.
