Baking | Eggless Oats & Banana Quick Bread

Baking is a real challenge if you wish to avoid two of the most important ingredients which give your cake that spongy and light texture, one is egg and the other is All purpose flour.

Though there is no specific reason for avoiding eggs in my bakes, I dislike using all purpose flour (maida) mainly due to health aspects. And this is what exactly happens with each bake of mine…will it rise…will it not. Anxiety vanishes when I see a gorgeous golden beauty popping out from my oven.

Oh yes, I too occasionally come across an adamant bread which fails to rise, that fussy cake showing the gooey inside and soft cookies which resembles more of flat breads. But then you learn with failures, the rate of which reduces drastically every time you see a perfect bake and a rewarding smile on the faces of your loved ones.

Oats & Wholewheat Eggless Vegetable Quiche

Quiche is one of those exotic European dishes baked with cheese, eggs and milk mixture which can make a very filling and healthy meal in itself. And home baked Quiche has an advantage of adding extra veggies and also curbing those fats which makes it quite heavy. Simple & easy to make, a Quiche can adopt various forms with the savory to sweet fillings you add in the baked pastry. The eggs used in the filling gives Quiche a light and fluffy texture, but believe me this egg less version tastes as good as if not the exact version, of the French Quiche 🙂

Recipe & Food Styling | Healthy Broccoli and Amaranth leaves Flat-breads – Things that keep me busy, happy and sane..

When you take the step towards your dreams, you will be met with fears because you have never traveled this way before. As you go, you will discover that you had nothing to fear.” ~ Gardner

Rewind a few years back to when I used to get panic attacks whenever a couple of projects land in a span of few days. I would become anxious and stressed out as the deadlines draw near. It was a real tough time to find a point of balance between my career and personal life, more so when you are passionately inclined towards both.

However, with over seven years of work experience in the industry, I now feel more at ease with myself.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” ~ Jack Canfield

I’ve been doing commercial food styling projects for over 5 years now, and it’s been an amazing journey so far.

The assignments that come my way are freelance projects, Ad shoots, magazine tie ups and television commercials of various brands and companies. I absolutely love my job, as every new project brings in the opportunity to meet new people and acquire different skill sets.

Recipes | Bejar Rotis with spinach papad curry and kachumbar – Appreciating small things in life..

“We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” ~ Frederick Keonig

Reminiscing good old days, appreciating small things in life and connecting with beautiful people, keeps me happy…always.

Sunday lunches have been a big affair since childhood. Mom would decide the menu a day before and start prepping for the dishes early in the morning. Though the menu would be a simple Indian meal with a dessert to go with it, but eating together made us try new food without making fuss and helped creating a feeling of belonging.

I turned around and looked at the representative from client’s office standing behind me. We would have spoken at length on topics ranging from food to Indian culture on the sets for last two days, but forgot to exchange our names.
