Carrot Treat for kids lunchbos

Planning for the kids lunchbox is the toughest job any mom faces day after day. Each of us worry about the adequate nutrition of the food and discovering new dishes over time. And most important is to add fun and creative part to the lunchbox to make it more interesting and appeasing for the kids.

I often discuss lunch ideas with other mothers while waiting for my kids outside the school premises and get many innovative ideas for the same. The carrot treat for kids lunchbox was shared by Uma, a caring and concerned mother of two grown ups.

Ingredients;

Method: Peel and grate the carrots. Make the batter for making the basic coins as described here, and the previous day and let it ferment for a night.I made these coins using Appam vessel, a mould normally used in south of India to make appams. You can very well use a normal tawa to make these coins, the difference being the coins will not come out round and fluffy.  Heat a tawa and pour a small spoon of the batter, sprinkle a little grated carrots on top and pour oil around it. Turn the coins once it is done and fry the other side till it is light brown in color.

Take out and serve it with fresh coriander chutney or tomato sauce. Simple and quick to make it is a favorite for my 6 years old daughter. Hope your kids too like the same. Try this healthy and wholesome carrot treat for kids lunchbox and let me know of your views.

Keep connected. Take care.
